Authentic Polish Pancakes

Authentic Polish Pancakes

I know people usually call them crepes, but since crêpe is a French word, I tend to just call them Polish pancakes. I usually eat them for breakfast, and sometimes later in the day—typically when I don’t have much in the fridge. Luckily, I almost always have flour, eggs, and milk.

What you need

  • 240g flour
  • 240ml milk
  • 240ml water
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

What you need to do

  1. Mix all the ingredients into a smooth batter.
  2. Preheat a large pan over medium-high heat. Lightly spray with oil if needed.
  3. Pour the batter onto the hot pan and spread it evenly to cover the surface. Cook for 2–4 minutes on each side. These pancakes are very thin—almost paper-like. I made 9 pancakes using a 24 cm pan.
  4. Serve with jam, honey, yogurt, or fresh fruit—whatever you like or have on hand. Sometimes I just eat them as they are. Enjoy!
