Not-a-donut pastry with chocolate chunks

What it really is, is muffin batter poured into a donut-shaped mold I recently bought... and I’m loving it! One of my goals is to feel good not just while eating but also afterwards, so I have to tell you — eating three of these pastries has about the same number of calories as my usual lunch has. Just saying… maybe try not to eat the whole batch in a day, for your own good :) Also, I didn’t use as much sugar as most pastry recipes call for, so they might not be as sweet as you’d expect. But for me, they’re sweet enough.
What you need
- 170g flour
- 40g sugar
- 150ml milk
- 1 egg
- 30g butter
- 30g dark chocolate
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
What you need to do (6 servings)
- Melt the butter and let it cool down slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Prepare two bowls:
- In the first bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and baking soda.
- In the second bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter using a spoon or fork.
- Pour the milk mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything together with a spoon until combined.
- Pour the batter into a baking mold and add about 4 chunks to each muffin or donut.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy!
By the way, here's what the baking mold I bought looks like.
