Why I took vacation to work

In this episode, I talk about taking a few days off from my full-time job to focus on my side business. I planned this short break very carefully because I had a clear goal and a list of things I wanted to accomplish. From my experience, taking vacation days to work only makes sense when you know exactly what you want to do. Of course, things didn’t go exactly according to plan. Like most people, I underestimated how long some tasks would take, and I also got distracted a bit along the way.

One of the things I worked on was learning new audio editing software. At the beginning it felt slow and frustrating because I was so used to the old program. But that’s usually how learning something new works—the learning curve is steep at first. I also believe that when something is difficult, it can actually become a valuable skill, because many people would rather pay someone else to do it.

Even though I didn’t finish everything I planned, I still managed to complete the most important task: redesigning my website and adding an offer for new clients. I also talk about the importance of balance and not using all my vacation days just to work. Soon I’m going on a short trip to Sicily and later a longer trip to Japan, which my husband and I have been talking about for years.
